I am lucky to have lived in our nations capital at the best time of the year... when the cherry trees bloom on the basin of the Potomac. This very simple yet modern quilt has been swirling in my mind for a while! I wanted the blocks to be simple yet thoughtful with detailed cherry blossom embroidery details. I quilted her on my domestic sewing machine and my mom did a simple “big” stitch to add some texture and more hand stitching. I bet this quilt inspires you to go travel to Washington D.C. in the spring to see those beautiful blossoms in person!
